Trisha has appreciated close friend and actress Varalaxmi’s performance in Bala’s Tharai Thappattai which released across halls in Tamil Nadu on 14th January.
Also the landmark 1000th film as music composer for Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, Tharai Thappattai hasn’t done badly in theatres despite its ‘A’ certificate (which bars school and some college students from watching it). It ranks second after Rajini Murugan in theatrical collections, beating Vishal-Catherine Tresa’s Kathakali and Udhayanidhi-Amy Jackson’s Gethu.
Superstar Rajinikanth, impressed by Varalaxmi’s portrayal of her character opposite Sasikumar in Tharai Thappattai, reportedly called Varalaxmi on phone to appreciate her.
In the meantime, Trisha has also lauded Varalaxmi’s acting saying that “Darling Varoo, had I not loved you enough, I would have felt envious of your performance in Tharai Thappattai. Your selfless portrayal of the character has really made me proud!”
Varalaxmi has thanked her fried on her Twitter account. Despite the not-so-positive reviews Tharai Thappattai received from critics, Varalaxmi’s performance has been appreciated by critics, fans and movie-goers.
