Sivakarthikeyan coughed Rs.5 crores to release Rajini Murugan?
Unconfirmed reports say that Sivakarthikeyan spent as many as Rs.5 crores to ensure that his upcoming film Rajini Murugan, which has been delayed for many months, releases in theatres in time at least on Pongal.
Rajini Murugan brings together the successful quartet of Sivakarthikeyan, director Ponram, comedian Soori and music director D. Imman for the second time on-screen after the super-duper film Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, which released in 2013. After missing its date with theatres at least on three occasions in the past three months, Rajini Murugan is finally releasing in theatres on Pongal.
Producer-director Lingusamy attempted to take up the film’s distribution and release in theatres but due to his financial liabilities, it couldn’t be released in November. After the heavy rains in December, it was again postponed when Mumbai-based PEN Movies associated with Lingusamy to release the film this year.
It is now said that Sivakarthikeyan lent his weight by providing Rs.5 crores to release the film in theatres, confirming the fact that the film would surely release in theatres on Pongal without any hurdle.
