In what is certainly a rarity in Kollywood, Bangalore Naatkal, the Tamil remake of the successful Malayalam film Bangalore Days, is to release soon in theatres.
The ‘first-look’ poster of the film, a multi-starrer with many heroes and heroines in a single film (something quite common in Telugu and Hindi films but a rarity in Kollywood), was released yesterday.
Bhaskar, director of the super-duper Telugu hit film Bommarilu, debuts in Tamil films as director with Banalore Naatkal. Arya, Rana Daggubati, Bobby Simha, Sri Divya, Samantha, Parvathy, Raai Laxmi, Saranya Ponvannan, Lakshmi and Prakash Raj form the huge star-cast in the film which has music by Gopi Sunder. PVP films is making the film at a huge budget.
The script is about how three relatives, who share friendly bonding, celebrations and other things and how they face the changes in their lives. Narrated in the backdrop of Bangalore city, the film is all set to release in theatres probably on Valentine’s Day in February. K.V. Guhan is the cinematographer of the film.
“Tamil films, which usually deals with friendly bonding alone, would deal with the bonding between relatives for a change; I’m sure it would be a great experience for movie-goers from the young to the old to identify themselves with the characters they would be watching on-screen. The film would be a family entertainer as it travels with the lives of each of us,” assures debutant director Bhaskar.
