The title of Aandavan Kattalai, a super-duper film which released more than 50 years ago and which starred legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan in the lead, returns to Tamil films as the title of actor Vijay Sethupathi’s new film which is to be directed by award-winning director Manikandan, who debuted in Kollywood as director with last year’s super-duper hit film Kaakka Muttai.
Vijay Sethupathi, who is presently starring in Seenu Ramasamy-directed Dharma Durai with a bevy of beauties in ‘milky beauty’ Tamannaah, Srushti Dange, Sshivada Nair and Aishwarya Rajesh, has committed himself to star in yet another film titled as Aandavan Kattalai.
Anbu Chezhian would be producing Aandavan Kattalai under his banner ‘Gopuram Films’. The shoot of the film is likely to start next week. Speaking about his new venture, Manikandan appeared excited and assured that he would continue to keep up Vijay Sethupathi’s image of appearing in practical and casual get-ups.
“I’m sure Aandavan Kattalai would take both of us to the next levels in our career,” adds Manikandan. In the meantime, he is also gearing up for the release in theatres of his another directorial venture titled Kuttramae Dhandanai which stars Vidharth in the lead. Manikandan hopes that the film, which has no songs in it, would appeal to audiences in a big way.
