Kaakka Muttai produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar films received critical acclaim amongst the film buffs and critics alike. Visaaranai, which will be an another feather in Wunderbar’s cap will be
released on January 29 and the official announcement is already out. The Vetrimaaran-directed film has Dinesh, Samuthrakani, Aananthi in important roles.
Visaaranai was chosen to be screened in prestigious Venice film festival and it was the first Tamil film to be screened in Venice. Lyca has acquired all the rights of the film which has been jointly produced by Vetrimaaran and Dhanush.
It is unfortunate that Censor board will not allow the release of the same version screened in Film Festivals. A theatrical version has been made with some scenes removed and some scenes modified with less violence. Censor board has given a U/A for the theatrical version.
Sources say that Vetrimaaran wished to release the movie in the December month but since Dhanush was busy with his Thanga Magan release, he has agreed to release it by January 29th. Visaaranai will be released alongside Sundar C’s horror comedy Aranmanai 2 on January 29th.
