Manisha Koilrala, the Nepali beauty who is also the grand-daughter of former Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, is making a comeback in Tamil films with Oru Melliya Kodu a few years after she appeared in Dhanush-Hansika’s Maappillai (2010).
The actress, who is in her early forties and who has recovered miraculously after getting afflicted by breast cancer, is slowly getting back into her usual routine and has started accepting film offers as well.
To be directed by AMR Ramesh, who has directed Kuppi, Vana Yudhdham and Kaavalar Kudiyiruppu in the past, Oru Melliya Kodu has ‘action king’ Arjun and Shaam essaying twin heroes’ roles.
Billed as a murder mystery, the film has Arjun essaying his favourite role of a cop. Manisha, the Mudhalvan, Indian and Baba actress, plays Shaam’s wife.
Manisha, who was to take up a Hindi film to be directed by a top Bollywood film-maker, dropped the film and signed up Oru Melliya Kodu soon after she heard the film’s script. She shot for 25 days in Chennai and Bangkok. Kashmir’s Aksha Bhatt debuts as heroine in Kollywood with this film.
Seetha and director Ramesh have essayed prominent roles in the film which has music by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja who has also sang a song in the film. Produced by Akshaya Creations, the film is to soon hit the screens across the State.
When queried by newsmen whether the script resembled the murder of socialite Sunanda Pushkar, Ramesh said that it was for the critics to find out as and when the film released.
