Kajal Aggarwal, the actress with a picture-perfect face who also possesses an enviable hour-glass figure, is said to have made a conscious decision to take up deglamourized roles from now on and concentrate on taking up script-oriented roles.
Kajal, who is among the frontline heroines in Tamil and Telugu, faced stiff competition from the likes of Tamannaahs, Hansikas, Shriya Sarans and Trishas due to which she also upped the glamour quotient.
She even starred in steamy a lip-lock sequence with Mahesh Babu in the Telugu film Businessman. Her attires in song sequences in Tamil films were always high on glamour quotient.
Kajal has taken up the role of a blind girl in her upcoming Hindi film Do Lafzon Ki Kahani. “After essaying the roles of chirpy and bubbly girls in many films, I now feel I have reached the stage wherein I can pick and choose my roles.
I have decided to reduce the glamour quotient and opt for script-oriented roles. The blind role in the above-film has me essaying a sculptor which is quite a challenge indeed.
“I have been visiting Schools for the Blind to observe the blind students’ functioning and their body-language to prepare myself for the role,” Kajal said. She was also appreciative of contemporary heroine Anushka’s performances in films such as Arundhati, Rudhramaadevi and the recently released Inji Iduppazhagi.
