Dhanush’s Thanga Magan, which released yesterday in Chennai and elsewhere yesterday amid the controversy plaguing its music director Anirudh Ravichander over the song involving him and Simbu, has opened to positive reviews by critics and to huge and enthusiastic response from Dhanush’s fans and movie-goers at all places.
Directed by R. Velraj, famed cinematographer of national award-winning Aadukalam who debuted as director in Kollywood with last year’s super-duper hit film Velaiyilla Pattathari, Thanga Magan has been produced by Dhanush’s Wundarbar Films.
Amy Jackson and Samantha have essayed his heroines in the film while K.S. Ravikumar and Radhika Sarathkumar have played Dhanush’s parents.
The script of the film, released in more than 400 halls across the State, has come in for special praise from critics. Thankfully and luckily, no other film released in theatres yesterday, letting Thanga Magan enjoy an uninterrupted run at the box-office on the penultimate week of the year 2015.
Fans have been tweeting happily about their experience of watching the film, which has many emotional sequences to keep the family audiences engaged for the next few weeks. Youths have also taken a liking to the film thanks to the entertaining and breezy romantic sequences between Dhanush and Amy Jackson.
