It is reported that the Chennai police has been on the look-out for person(s) who leaked the hugely controversial ‘Beep’ song sung by Simbu and set to score by Anirudh Ravichander.
The ‘beep’ song has created a huge controversy with its vulgarish and anti-feminine lyrics and has made Simbu and Anirudh the most-hated duo by the people in recent times.
Based on complaints filed with it, the Race Course Police in Coimbatore issued summons to Simbu and Anirudh asking them to appear before it tomorrow (19th Dec.). In the meantime, Chennai police have also been collecting evidences against them.
Chennai Police has also received more than 5 complaints against the duo. Women’s rights activists have been protesting outside Simbu’s residence for the past few days.
Though Chennai Police hasn’t yet filed a case like their counterparts in Coimbatore did, they have been collecting evidences against the duo. “Simbu has said that he didn’t release the controversial song on the Net which has been released on YouTube.
“We have been trying to find out who released the song on YouTube. Based on the information provided by him/them, we shall conduct further investigations.
We have also to find out whether Simbu sung the song for which ‘voice test’ would have to be conducted on him by forensic science experts. Only after collecting evidences against the duo, we shall file cases,” Chennai police sources said.
In the meantime, Simbu is said to be initiating legal proceedings to secure bail to evade arrest. As Anirudh hasn’t yet returned from Canada, police are trying to ensure that Simbu doesn’t leave the country and are planning to confiscate his passport.
