The craze among Kollywood actresses to play the ‘ghost’ in films has been on the rise for the past few months. Debutant Prayaga Martin willingly and courageously took up the role in her debut film in Mysskin’s Pisaasu, a successful venture. Actresses such as Lakshmi Rai, Taapsee Pannu, Trisha, Andrea Jeremiah and Nikki Galrani have so far done it with aplomb and it is now Simran’s turn to do so.
Nick-named as S(l)imran for her slender waist during her heydays as Kollywood’s frontline heroine in the late nineties, Simran is now married to Deepak Bagga and is mother of two children. Her comeback film, which would be produced by her husband, would be directed by debutant director Bala.
Simran plays the mother of two children in the film. Kovai Sarala and ‘Naan Kadavul’ Rajendran play significant roles in the film whose script is not dissimilar to the recently released Nayantara-starrer Maya which courted huge success at the box-office.
Rumours are floating in Kollywood that Simran is the ‘ghost’ in the film which would scare others; however, it is also said that she is the one h(a)unted by the ghost. Whatever be the script, we have to wait and see whether the former ‘dream-girl’ turns out to be the ‘ghost-girl’ or not!
