Actor Siddharth, who has been actively involving himself in the rescue and relief work to help the flood-affected victims in Chennai and other coastal Districts, has postponed the release of his upcoming film to January.
Siddharth and RJ-turned-actor Balaji took the initiative as they were the first from Kollywood to involve themselves in the rescue effort when Chennai and its suburbs witnessed unprecedented floods a couple of weeks back.
Soon after flood waters entered his Adyar residence, Siddharth plunged into relief and rescue work in the company of RJ Balaji, a close friend of him.
After arranging for 20 vehicles carrying relief materials to be sent to Cuddalore, Siddharth got involved in relief work for days together. His work inspired other artistes, NGOs, students and others to plunge themselves whole-heartedly into the rescue, relief and rehabilitation work.
“Though floods have receded, people haven’t yet returned fully to lead their normal lives. I have, therefore decided to postpone the release of my film by a month to release it in January,” says Siddharth, who has produced Jil Jung Chuk under his own banner.
