It is rumoured strongly in Kollywood circles that Kamal Haasan’s on-again-off-again pet project Marudhanayagam would be revived once again and in the near future.
Said to be Kamal’s ‘dream project’, Marudhanayagam was launched 18 years back in 1997 when Queen Victoria of England made it to the muhurat held with fanfare in Chennai. The promotional stills and the first schedule of shoot soon followed after which the project was abandoned citing ‘lack of financial resources’ to proceed further.
Kamal would talk about his project at various press-meets and despite almost two decades after film’s launch, he was always optimistic of reviving it somehow. It now appears that his dream may now be realized.
Aingaran Films International, a leading distributors of frontline heroes’ films abroad, has published a poster of the film on its web-page, triggering hopes and expectations amid Kamal Haasan’s fans that the project may be revived very soon.
It is also rumoured that Lyka Mobiles, producer of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Enthiran 2, may step in to produce Marudhanayagam as well.
