Unconfirmed reports say that superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Enthiran 2 has been ‘launched’ in the city without much fanfare or publicity in view of the grim flood scenario prevailing in Chennai and other coastal Districts of the State.
Rajini is presently starring in Kabali, a film based on the life of a Mylapore-based don of yore. Pa. Ranjith of Attakathi and Madras fame is directing the film which is produced at a huge budget b ‘Kalaipuli’ S. Thanu. Rajini and Shankar, who are planning to make a sequel to their 2010 super-duper hit film Enthiran, left for U.S. more than a week ago for conducting make-up and other tests on Rajini.
It was widely expected that an announcement about the launch of Enthiran 2 would be made on 12th January on Rajini’s birthday (Saturday). However, due to heavy rains and the floods which have disrupted normal life in Chennai, a formal announcement about the film’s launch was postponed.
Reports say that sans the presence of Rajini and Shankar, staff members of Shankar’s Office conducted the muhurat of Enthiran 2 in a very simple manner, keeping it a closely-guarded secret. It is said that the shoot of the film may commence after Pongal next month.
