In an apparent effort to curb the menace of video piracy, producer-actor RK has introduced a novel scheme by which those purchasing 10 tickets or more would be given one free ticket per 100 tickets in respect of his upcoming film Vaigai Express.
Bollywood’s Neetu Chandra, who has appeared in a few Tamil films, plays the heroine in a Tamil film after some gap by pairing up opposite RK for Vaigai Express whose promotional event was held in the city over the weekend. Speaking at the event, RK lamented the fact that advancements in technology haven’t come to the rescue of film producers who still suffer from piracy.
“It is indeed ironical that technology, which aids in all spheres of film-making, doesn’t exactly help out film-makers in checking the video piracy menace.
Instead of a few number of distributors, let’s transform the audiences into distributors,” he said while unveiling his unique scheme of giving a free ticket per every 10 tickets purchased by audiences to watch the film.
“Thankfully, if producers and actors follow similar techniques, it might help turn movie-goers and fans of major stars turn distributors themselves, thereby reducing the impact of video piracy or even obliterating the whole menace,” RK observed at the event attended by Neetu Chandra, looking as dazzling as ever.
