Ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon has said that it was high time actor Simbu brushed up his act, concentrated hard and reached the top in Kollywood. “He should move on to the next level in his life; instead of remaining a second or a third or a fourth, I feel he should take his deserving place at the top,” Menon says.
Of late, Simbu has been facing problems on the personal as well as professional fronts. The shoot of his Selvaraghavan-directed Kaan has been ‘suspended’ and his Pandiraj-directed Idhu Namma Aalu, whose shoot had been wrapped up, has been facing problems in releasing in theatres. Simbu is now presently starring in lead role in Gautham Menon’s Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada.
“I share a good rapport with Simbu. Though he comes late to the shoot at times, he is a workaholic and won’t even bother about working for 10 hours non-stop.
He also informs me in advance about his absence if he felt ill. I know he has faced some hard times in his life in the past; however, he should put them aside and move ahead to the next level in his life.
“He is quite young and can easily forget those things. I don’t see him as a ‘No.2’, ‘No.3’ or a ‘No.4’ actor but as a top ‘No.1’ as he deserves to be at the top. Simbu has a natural talent which could take him to the top if he mends himself slightly. I want him to deliver 3-4 hit films regularly every year,” Menon has said. Will Simbu listen to his most ardent supporter in Kollywood?
