Film-maker ‘Jayam’ Raja has described actress Anushka’s dedication, commitment and sincerity as something great and has said that in his opinion, Anushka was a ‘mixture’ of Kamal Haasan and Vikram.
Raja made this observation while speaking at the audio-launch of the Anushka-Arya starrer Inji Iduppazhagi (to be released simultaneously in Telugu as Size Zero) held at the Sathyam Cinemas in the city.
Maragatha Mani has scored the film’s music while Prakash Rao has directed it. Anushka, Arya, Nassar, Kreshna, producers C.V. Kumar, Dhananjayan, A.L. Azhagappan and Siva and lyricist Madan Karky were present at the audio-launch.
“Everyone has some opinion on the issue of ‘obesity’ in today’s context. The director of the film has understood it property and has made the film. Bhagyaraj made Chinna Veedu in the eighties which dealt with issues arising out of wife’s obesity; it fitted perfectly during that time. Inji Iduppazhagi is another film that fits the contemporary scenario very appropriately.
“My good wishes to all the cast members and technicians who have worked in the film. I haven’t had much interaction with Anushka but have watched all her films.
Watching her performances, her commitment, sincerity and dedication to the roles she takes on, I feel she is a mixture of Kamal Haasan and Vikram, who go to any extent to make themselves suitable for the roles they portray on screen,” Raja said.
