Adhik Ravichandran, who debuted as director with the controversial yet successful Trisha Illana Nayantara which released a few months back, has denied rumours which appeared in sections of the press to the effect that he would be directing none other than Kamal Haasan in the lead in his next film as director.
Patronized mostly by college-going youths and shunned by families, the G.V. Prakash Kumar-Manisha Yadav-Anandhi starrer Trisha Illana Nayantara has turned out to be a hit at the box-office. The double-meaning dialogues and its adult content ensured that women in particular and family audiences in general stayed away from it.
“I’m grateful to Kamal Haasan Sir for having given me time to meet him as I wanted to seek his blessings in the aftermath of the success of Trisha Illana Nayantara and in view of the fact that he has been a great role model for me and my father for many years. I felt as if my dreams had come true when I met him and had the opportunity to get myself photographed with him.
“I requested him to watch Trisha Illana Nayantara if he had time at his disposal and he said he’d try to do so. However, reports in some sections of the press stating that I’d be directing a Kamal-starre are nothing but contrary to the truth.
Neither did I discuss any script with him nor am I going to direct any film with him in the lead. This is shocking as I’ve just started my career. If Kamal Sir felt hurt by this rumour, I extend my sincere apologies to him,” Adhik’s statement said thus.
