Unconfirmed reports emanating from producer-director Shankar’s camp say that Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger is on the verge of signing the contract along dotted lines to play superstar Rajinikanth’s villain in Shankar’s proposed sequel to his 2010 super-duper hit film Enthiran: The Robot.
Shankar, who had already started the pre-production work relating to the sequel, is likely to start the shoot of the film either in December or from January next year. If things go as planned, Enthiran sequel will hit the screens during 2016 Deepavali or during 2017 Pongal (January). Amy Jackson, heroine of Shankar’s I, is said to have been chosen over Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone to pair up opposite Rajinikanth.
The international flavor in the film doesn’t end with Briton Amy Jackson alone; the ‘Terminator’ Arnold Schwarzenegger is likely to be added to the cast despite his pre-condition to signing the contract to star in the film that he wouldn’t settle for anything less than Rs.100 crores as his fee, which is double of what Rajini is likely to get. Even this phenomenal fee is said to have been agreed to by the producers, it is now said.
Twin Oscar winner A.R. Rahman, who lost out to Harris Jayaraj in scoring music for Shankar’s successive ventures in Nanban and I, returns to Shankar’s fold by scoring music for the film.
