In what could only be termed as a classic case of mismatch if it turns out to be true, it is rumoured strongly in Kollywood that Vijaykanth is planning to cast ‘milky beauty’ Tamannaah as the heroine opposite his son Shanmuga Pandian in the latter’s next venture which is likely to be a period type film.
Shanmuga Pandian, Vijayakanth’s youngest of the two sons, debuted as hero with Sagaptham a few months back opposite two Mumbai imports (models) after leading and upcoming heroines refused to pair up opposite him.
The film did badly at the box-office and it is said that Vijayakanth, who also produced the film, was deeply upset that his son’s launch-pad turned out to be dull affair and wants to compensate.
Vijayakanth has been in talks awith Majid, who directed Vijay’s super-flop Tamizhan around 15 years back, Vijay of Thalaivaa (in)fame and Maharajan (of Vallarasu fame) to make a ‘perfect’ action-packed script for his son. It is reported that one of the scripts narrated to ‘Captain’ involves a period-type film with Lemuria as its backdrop.
Vijayakanth, who was apparently stumped by the grandeur with which Baahubali was made, was deeply struck by the film and apparently wants to make one such film with his son in the lead. He is also said to be planning to cast none other than Tamannaah opposite his son. It remains to be seen whether Tamannaah accepts this offer!
