Nayantara has the perfect attitude to blend with any hero who is paired up opposite her – be it superstar Rajinikanth, Sarathkumar, Simbu, Ajith, Suriya, Vijay or Dhanush – she looks perfectly okay opposite all of them, which is a tribute to her commitment and sincerity in ensuring that she does in a nice manner what is expected of her.
In this backdrop, it comes as a shocker that Vijay, who had starred opposite her in Villu, reportedly struck down her name as his par in actor-producer-director S.J. Suryah’s upcoming untitled directorial venture. Vijay and Suryah had worked only once in the past in Khushi which released more than a decade back and long before Jyothika’s marriage to Suriya.
Suryah’s film is to be Vijay’s 60th film in the latter’s career and would be produced by A.M. Rathnam. At a time when even a rank newcomer wants to pair up opposite ‘hot’ Nayantara who is enjoying probably the best phase in her career in films, Vijay is said to have told Suryah to look for ‘another heroine’ instead of Nayantara.
Vijay’s action of turning down Nayantara as heroine, at a time when she is on top of her trade in Kollywood, has raised quite a few eye-brows considering the fact that Vijay’s upcoming films need to do well to offset the not-so-successful show of his recently released Puli. It also remains to be seen how Nayantara takes this rebuff!
