Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has been signed up to score the music of Sila Samayangalil produced by actress Amala Paul and directed by Priyadarshan.
Producer-director A.L. Vijay and Amala Paul’s ‘Think Big’ Studios is producing the film jointly in association with actor-choreographer-director-producer Prabhu Deva’s ‘Prabhu Deva Studios’.
It may be recalled that some time back, the bearded Prabhu Deva announced the launch of his production house in Chennai when he revealed that to start with, he would be making three films back-to-back.
The huge names associated with the film had already raised expectations about the film. It turns out that the crew of the film recently screened the film to Ilaiyaraaja and requested him to score the film’s music. Ilaiyaraaja apparently was convinced of the quality of the script and agreed to compose the music.
Priyadarahan, who has worked with Ilaiyaraaja many a time in the past, was reportedly adamant in getting Ilaiyaraaja to score the music and wasn’t supporting the crew’s idea of approaching A.R. Rahman.
