“These days, in order to get tax exemption, a film should get ‘U’ certificate, has a Tamil title and also, if possible, they should sell the satellite rights to Jaya TV”, said a trade veteran on the condition of anonymity.
The veteran also added that films like Papanasam wasn’t granted tax exemption because it was sold to Sun TV. Now, the latest information is that Jaya TV has snapped the satellite rights of Ajith’s Vedalam.
Earlier, Ajith’s Veeram didn’t get tax exemption and interestingly, it was sold to Sun TV. Now, one can expect Vedalam to get tax exemption.
