Radhiika Apte, the latest heroine to have been given the (golden) opportunity to pair up opposite superstar Rajinikanth, has said that her career in Hindi films has started shining thanks to her getting the offer to star opposite Rajinikanth.
Radhika, married to a British musician and who turned 30 last month, had starred in only a handful of Tamil films including Dhoni, All in All Azhagu Raja, Vetri Selvan and Ula, got the biggest break in her life when she was chosen by director Pa. Ranjith to pair up opposite Rajini in the upcoming film Kabali in which Rajini plays an aged don.
Known more for her ‘nude’ act for a Bengali short film Ahalya and her bold views on relationship between men and women, Radhika is now busy with a few projects in Hindi films including Phobia, a psychological thriller which she has just signed. The actress, who has starred in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Marathi, Hindi and Bengali language films, is now the toast of Kollywood which awaits the release of Kabali with delight.
Commenting on Phobia directed by Pawan Kriplani of Ragini MMS fame, Radhika said that she was thrilled to have been chosen to star in the film. Kriplani said that while penning the script itself, he had decided to cast Radhika who believes that thanks to her film with Rajini, she is getting many offers in Hindi and hoped that the trend would continue for a few more years.
