The High Court of Madras has stayed the release in theatres of the Naren-Srushti Dange starrer Kaththukutti, which was lauded by politicians such as Vaiko and Seeman before its scheduled date of release in theatres yesterday (01st October).
Kaththukutti was to clash with Vijay’s Puli in theatres yesterday but the Court has statyed its release. Anvar Kabeer, a producer, had filed a case with the High Court of Madras requesting it to stay the release of Kaththukutti in theatres.
“Ramkumar of ‘One Production’ had entered into agreement with me and he hasn’t paid me money based on the agreement. I, therefore, request the Court to stay the release of his film,” he said.
Taking up the petition, Justice Ravichandra Babu issued a stay order stating “If Ramkumar pays up the amount, the film could be released in theatres. Otherwise, the film shouldn’t be allowed to release in theatres.” Thus, the release of the film has been stayed by a couple of weeks.
