It is often said that film industry is not a place for people banking on emotional support based on sentiment and friendship. If one goes by what has been happening to director M. Rajesh, it appears that everything that has been said about adversely Kollywood might just be true in letter and spirit!
Rajesh, who arrived in Kollywood a few years back and delivered a hat-trick of super-duper hit films in the form of Siva Manasula Sakthi, Bass Engira Bhaskaran and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, slipped badly with his All I n All Azhaguraja which starred Karthi, Kajal Aggarwal and Radhika Apte in the lead.
It is now revealed that when he was making All in All Azhaguraja, Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja, actor Jiiva and producer-turned-actor Udhayanidhi had given him token advances to direct films for them at a later stage.
However, none of them got back to him after Azhaguraja misfired at the box-office and Rajesh was left to cool his heels waiting for a producer to come to him and give him an offer to direct his next film.
Arya then bailed Rajesh out and produced Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga besides playing the lead role in it. At that time, A.M. Rathnam and Madhan (Escape Artiste) reportedly met Rajesh and asked him to make films for their banners.
However, as Arya’s production bombed at the box-office miserably, both Rathnam and Madhan have chosen not to ‘approach’ for the time being to pursue the film-making offer.
