Prakash Raj has said that persons like Sarathkumar, who holds a responsible post at Nadigar Sangam, should be extremely careful while making statement on any issue.
Nadigar Sangam elections are to take place on 18th October. While Sarathkumar, Radha Ravi and others form the incumbent team, they face severe opposition from the ‘Pandavar’ team of Vishal, Karunas, Karthi, Ponvannan and Nassar. Actors Prakash Raj, Saravanan, Ajay Rathnam and Manobala were in Salem over the weekend to canvass in support of Vishal’s team.
“We have been campaigning in support of Vishal’s team. We are not here to find fault with anyone. We want changes to be ushered in the functioning of Nadigar Sangam. Sarathkumar is a very good friend of mine but he is at a wrong place. His team is trying to give a caste-colour to the election proceedings. Artistes transcend the barriers of colour, caste, religion and creed.
“It has taken many years to instill revolution in the Nadigar Sangam elections. It’s the time for change now; Sarathkumar is behaving in an unparliamentary manner by saying that there won’t be unity among artistes after the elections. We can’t live if we don’t stand united. People like Sarathkumar, who hold responsible positions, should refrain from making irresponsible statements.
“Each member of the Sangam has the right to question its functioning. When youths ask so many questions after several years, it means there is something to be questioned.
I don’t want any post but would step in if I felt there is some mishap. We are here to bring about a refreshing change in the functioning of the Sangam,” Prakash Raj said.
