Reports say that Rajesh M. Selva, Kamal Haasan’s long-time aide who is making his directorial debut with the latter’s upcoming film Thoonga Vanam, might also get to direct Kamal Haasan’s upcoming untitled film as well.
Thoonga Vanam, billed as a psycho-thriller and which is simultaneously shot in Telugu as well, stars Kamal Haasan, Trisha, Asha Sarath, Prakash Raj and Kishore in the lead and is gearing up for its release in theatres on Deepavali (four days before Deepavali, to be precise!).
Kamal Haasan’s next film is also likely to see most of the crew and technicians of Thoonga Vanam working in it. Unlike Thoonga Vanam, this would be an out-and-out comedy film whose script is being penned by actor-director Mouli. Kamal is said to be co-authoring the dialogues along with Mouli.
In all likelihood, producer-director Lingusamy might step in as the producer of the untitled venture (with a moderate budget of Rs.30 crores) which brings Kamal Haasan, Rajesh M. Selva and Mouli together.
It may be recalled that Kamal had earlier assured to do a film for Lingusamy in order to compensate the latter for the losses suffered in making Uttama Villain which released a few months back.
