Natraj Subramaniam of Sathuranga Vettai fame has done the cinematography for Chimbu Devan Puli. While talking about his experience with Puli and Vijay, Natty says, “After he has seen my work in Thuppakki, Vijay sir offered me this opportunity to work in Puli. He called me and said that I will be the cinematographer for his next film.
At that time I didn’t imagine that Puli will be a big project. When Chimbu Devan narrated the story, I realized that cinematography plays a vital role in the script and I took this as a challenge,” says Natty.
After Sathuranga Vettai’s success, my friends advised me not to take break
from acting. But I felt Puli is important so I chose Puli. Also Enkitta Modhadhe team was waiting for me, so as soon as I finished Puli I started to work in Enkitta Modhadhe, says Natty.
Talking about Vijay, Natty reveals how Vijay went the extra mile for Puli. “He is so much diligent and dedicated; he denied the idea of using dupes for the fight sequences. Like he excels in dance, he learns the fights moves too so easily. Though I worked as a cinematographer in Puli, I learnt a lot as an actor from Vijay sir, ” adds Natraj.
