Come Deepavali, three top stars of Kollywood will be seen in action in theatres. Kamal Haasan, Ajith Kumar and Dhanush would be vying for Deepavali honours.
While Kamal Haasan’s Thoonga Vanam (co-starring Trisha, Asha Sarath, Prakash Raj, Kishore and Madhu Shalini) may release a few days ahead of Deepavali over the previous weekend, Ajith’s untitled Siva-directed film and Dhanush’s sequel to last year’s super-hit Velaiyilla Pattathari may release on the D-Day.
While Siva had already announced that his untitled film which has Ajith, Shruti Haasan and Lakshmi Menon in the lead would be releasing on Deepavali, it nos turns out that Dhanush’s Velaiyilla Pattatharai 2 would also be joining the Deepavali race.
If it becomes true, it would be a bonanza for fans of Kamal Haasan, Ajith Kumar and Dhanush as three major films would be releasing in the most-important festival as far as Kollywood and the rest of the country is concerned.
Kamal’s Thoonga Vanam, a psycho-thriller, is said to be a loose adaptation of a French film titled Sleepless Night and has been made bilingual in Tamil and Telugu.
It only has a duration of 98 minutes and may have five shows running in theatres. Ajith’s films always evoke huge expectation and this one is no different as pits him opposite the sexy and stunning Shruti Haasan for the first time on-screen.
In Velaiyilla Pattatharai 2, Dhanush has been paired up opposite two heroines with whom he has never worked before: Samanatha and Amy Jackson.
Dhanush’s parents from the first part – Samuthirakani and Saranya – have since been replaced by director K.S. Ravikumar and Radhika.
