Lanky Anushka, the actress who has only a few heroes matching up to her height in Kollywood and Tollywood, has revealed the secret behind her ‘gigantic’ looks in her upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film (titled as Size Zero in Telugu and in Tamil as Inji Iduppazhagi).
Arya and Anushka join hands for the second time as on-screen pair for the film after their forgettable Iradaam Ulagam which released in 2013. Sonal Chauhan is the other heroine in Inji Iduppazhagi which has music by Keeravani and has been directed by Prakash Kovelamudi. Anushka plays a woman who weighs more than 100-kgs in the film and ‘struggled’ a lot to put on oodles of fat.
“I eat rice thrice a day to pout on weight; I also stayed away from any physical exercise or work-out so as to prepare myself for the role in the film,” says Anushka. Rajamouli, who directed her in Baahubali, recently expressed his surprise at the huge commitment displayed by the actress in putting on so much weight to suit her character in a film.
The 5’10” actress, known to possess an hour-glass figure, surprised herself and her male and female fans by putting on so much fat for the role in the film, thus joining the likes of her male contemporaries in Bollywood and Kollywood who would pump up their muscles and biceps to suit their respective roles in films.
“I increased my weight by more than 20 kgs; in particular, I had put on weight around shoulders and face for which I ate lots of rice and carbohydrate-rich food.
I avoided my physical work-outs, something which I have never done. Now that the shoot of the sequel to Baahubali is to commence in end-September, I’m hitting the gym and doing all work-outs to shed my weight and acquire my natural figure,” says Anushka.
