Kamal Haasan has vowed to himself not to drag the shooting schedules of his upcoming films to 100 days or 200 days like he had done many a time in the past. “At the most, I would only take 40 days to shoot a film in future,” Kamal Haasan said.
Kamal Haasan’s projects in the past used to take at least 3-6 months in the making as he used to plan things elaborately. However, his recent release Papanasam, which was shot in just 40 days, turned out to be one of the most successful films in his career. Taking cue from it, Kamal Haasan has wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming Thoongaa Vanam (Seekatti Rajyam in Telugu) in six weeks’ time.
“I concede that we had been travelling on a wrong path all these years; we were under the impression that we could put up a show of grandeur only if sweat it out for 100 or 200 days. However, in Hollywood, they don’t shoot for more than 50 days even for James Bond-kind of films.
“Why should we then take so long to make a film; whatever is the effort, a film doesn’t run in theatres for more than 100 days. I have, therefore, decided to make all my films in future as short-term productions,” Kamal Haasan said.
