Gautham Vasudev Menon, who made the super-duper hit film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya starring Simbu and Trisha in 2010, has hinted in a recent interview that a sequel to the film is very much in the offing.
With music by Oscar wizard A.R. Rahman, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya released in 2010 February and went on to become one of the most significant hits in Menon, Simbu and Trisha’s careers. Menon, who is presently making Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada with Simbu in the lead, is to start the shoot of the sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya some time later this year.
Simbu’s career graph could easily be divided into two parts: before and after the release of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. The film’s success changed his image totally and he got plenty of female fans after the film’s success.
The film won more than 20 awards at various awards ceremonies. In fact Menon wanted to commence the sequel soon after the success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya but got delayed due to prior commitments.
The hit pair of Simbu and Trisha would come together to star in sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. The script of the sequel would obviously deal with whether or not Simbu’s character got married and what happened to his love affair with Trisha. A few other frontline actors/actresses are in talks to star in the sequel Menon said.
