Trisha has insisted that her decision to play a full-fledged ghost in her upcoming film Nayagi has nothing to do with Nayantara’s upcoming film Maya in which the latter plays a ghost.
Shoot of Nayaki, Trisha’s upcoming film which is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu and which is also billed as her first-eve complete horror film, commenced yesterday. Trisha was mobbed by newspersons when she arrived to take part in the film’s muhurat.
Scribes asked her whether her decision to star in a horror film was triggered by the fact that her contemporary Nayantara has just completed her first horror film in Maya. Replying politely to scribes’ queries, Trisha said that it was only purely coincidental that the script of Nayaki was horror-based as that of Maya.
“Though both are horror films, I feel Nayantara’s Maya is somewhat different. Script of Nayaki is in no way connected with Maya. I loved the script which provided perfect fodder to my long-standing dream of featuring in a horror film. That’s all; I don’t think I’m competing with Nayantara or any other heroine for that matter,” Trisha concluded.
