Actress Trisha has thanked her producer and co-star Kamal Haasan for helping her out with pronouncing the dialogues of her portion during the dubbing session of her upcoming film titled as Thoongaa Vanam.
Made simultaneously in Telugu with the title Cheekati Rajyam, the film has Kamal Haasan, Trisha and Asha Sarath (of Papanasam fame) in the lead.
Trisha has starred in more than 50 films during her long stint in Kollywood and Tollywood but never really made an attempt to dub for her characters in films in her own voice despite the fact that she is fluent in spoken Tamil and hails from Tamil Nadu.
Things, however, changed when she starred with Kamal Haasan a few years back in K.S. Ravikumar’s Manmadhan Ambu when Trisha accepted Kamal’s suggestion to dub in her own voice.
During the shoot of Thoongaa Vanam, her second film with Kamal, dubbing was held at the shooting spot itself on ‘live-recording’ mode. Kamal again insisted that Trisha should dub in her voice for the film.
Kamal taught Trisha the nuances of dubbing by advising on the kind of modulations she should be showing depending on the emotional content of the sequences.
Tweeting on her Twitter account, Trisha said “I have always wanted to dub in my voice for my films; somehow, it didn’t materialize. I’m thankful for a great trainer in Kamal Haasan after which I dubbed in my voice for my character in Thoongaa Vanam!”
