Sisters creating waves in Kollywood, Tollywood and Bollywood is not a new phenomenon. By that way, Sri Ramya (elder sister of Sri Divya of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam fame) becomes the latest sister to be entering the entertainment industry.
Following the footsteps of Ambika-Radha, Shilpa Shetty-Shamita Shetty, Kajol-Tanisha, Nagma-Jyothika, Kajol-Rani Mukherjee and Kajal Aggarwal-Nisha Aggarwal, Sri Ramya considers making a serious comeback in Tamil films after making her debut with Yamuna in 2013.
Sri Divya, who has become a huge hit among youths in Tamil Nadu, has been having a successful career in Kollywood with kicked off with the above-said Sivakarthikeyan-starrer in 2013. She now has in-house competition as her elder sister Sri Ramya has already debuted in Telugu films a few years back and won the prestigious ‘Nandi’ award of the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for her role in the film.
Sri Ramya also played the lead role in a solo Tamil film titled as Yamuna which released in 2013. Sri Ramya, typical of an elder sister, says that she never considered Sri Divya as her competitor and asserts that there won’t be any kind of sibling rivalry among them. “If a two-heroine subject is offered, I won’t have any qualms in starring with Divya,” says Sri Ramya.
