Though it was announced by the makers of Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Rajini Murugan that the film would be releasing in theatres on 17th July, it appears that there could be a delay in the film’s release in theatres.
Producer-director Lingusamy has produced the film which has been directed by Ponram, who debuted as director in 2013 in Kollywood with the super-duper hit Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam.
Instead of publicizing the film, Lingusamy’s Tirupathi Brothers appears to be keen in releasing the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Idam Porul Eval directed by Seenu Ramasamy, who made the national award-winning Thenmerku Paruvakaatru in 2010.
Rajini Murugan has created a buzz among Sivakarthikeyan’s fans and movie-goers as it brings back the successful trio of Sivakarthikeyan, Ponram and music director D. Imman. It appears that Lingusamy was wary of releasing Rajini Murugan on 17th July as Simbu’s Vaalu and Dhanush’s Maari are also slated to release on the same day.
Unit sources say that the re-recording and post-production work haven’t yet been wrapped up and it may take a few weeks more after which the film would have to be sent to the Censors for certification.
