‘First-look’ posters of Simbu’s upcoming film Kaan directed by Selvaraghavan were released on Wednesday. Depicting Simbu as highly religious with the holy ash (vibhuti) applied liberally on his forehead with a dash of kumkum, the posters have excited Simbu’s fans, who have been waiting for more than two-and-a-half-years now for the release of a new Simbu-starrer in theatres.
Simbu, one of the style icons of today’s youths, appeared very different in those posters resembling a deeply religious person complete with the Rudraksha Maala around his neck. The title Kaan (means ‘forest’ in pure Tamil) carries the tag ‘Forest and nearby localities’ below it.
Catherine Tresa (of Madras fame) and picture-perfect Priya Anand are Simbu’s two heroines in the film. Besides these two heroines, there is also a third heroine in the form of Taapsee Pannu who plays an ultra-glamourous character in the film.
As this is the first film which brings the mercurial Selvaraghavan and the dynamic Simbu together, expectations about the film are high among Simbu’s fans.
“I’m happy with the support of fans for the ‘first look’ of Kaan; I register my special thanks to the love and affection of my fans. But for their continued support and patronage, I can’t be what I am. I really feel blessed!” Simbu had tweeted.
