Comedian Santhanam is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film this Friday (12th June). Inimey Ippadithan, the third film after Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya and Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham which has Santhanam essaying the lead role, has been directed by ‘Lollu Sabha’ fame Muruganand who has also penned the screenplay of the film.
Santosh Kumar Dayanidhi, a junior assistant of Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman, debuts as music director with this film. Speaking to newsmen in Madurai recently, Santhanam said: “Madurai fans have a huge heart and make almost all the films succeed.
Almost every star has a fan’s club operating in Madurai which is special in so many respects. In today’s scenario, if a film runs for two weeks in theatres, it is considered as a super-hit.
“Today’s audiences expect comedy to be an integral part of films; in fact, they want the comic portion to be interwoven with the script. Inimey Ippadithan would fulfill their aspirations for sure. Its central theme is to lead a happy life with the available resources and not to regret for not possessing something,” he said.
“Being a producer in films is similar to the state of mind of a drunkard who vows every night not to drink from the next day but invariably seeks comfort in the company of liquor bottle in the night.
I have fully understood the difficulties of a producer but would continue to make films,” Santhanam said and added that he didn’t have any interest in politics but he may evince interest in it in future.
