Trade circles say that Maasu Engira Masilamani, actor Suriya’s latest film directed by Venkat Prabhu which released last Friday, has collected Rs.17.30 crores in theaters in its first three days in Tamil Nadu.
Nayantara and Pranitha are the two heroines opposite Suriya in the film which has Premgi Amaren and Parthiban in significant roles.
The film, which opened to very huge and enthusiastic response from Suriya’s fans in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere, has been doing well thanks to the positive reviews it has elicited from the print and television media and from Suriya’s fans.
Reports say that it has collected Rs.17.30 crores in theatres in its first three days in halls in Tamil Nadu. Maasu… has also collected more money in its first three days in Australia than all the Tamil films which had released before it.
It appears that Suriya has a huge fan following in Australia. Thus, Maasu… becomes the latest film which has a ‘male’ ghost yet has become a super-duper hit after Kanchana and Kanchana 2.
