Aishwarya Dhanush, who is awaiting the release of her second directorial venture in the form of Vai Raja Vai, has opined that she loved director her husband and actor Dhanush’s cameo appearance.
Dhanush has essayed the role of Kokki Kumar, a role he played with aplomb in his elder brother Selvarghavan’s Pudhupettai many years back, in Vai Raja Vai where he appears in a ‘guest role’. It may be noted that Aishwarya debuted with the Dhanush-Shruti Haasan starrer 3 in 2012 which didn’t do well in theatres despite the world-famous Why This Kolaveri Di number in it.
Starring Gautham Karthik, Priya Anand and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles, Vai Raja Vai has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It is scheduled to release next Friday (01st May) and clashes with Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain at the box-office. “3 was a serious film but Vai Raja Vai is a jolly film. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is a great source of strength for the film in which Dhanush has essayed his Kokki Kumar role briefly.
“I have always loved his performance in Pudhupettai and am happy that I’m bringing to live the same role, albeit in a cameo, in my film. We also plan to dub the film in Telugu,” she says and adds that actor-director S.J. Suryah has also danced for a song.
