Actress Iniya, who scorched the screens with some intimate sequences with senior actor-director Lal in the 2013 Malayalam film Ayaal, has denied that she locked lips with a newcomer who plays the hero opposite her in her upcoming Tamil film titled as ‘Kaadhal Solla Neram Illai’.
The actress, who hails from the neighbouring ‘God’s Own Country’, has been starring mostly in Tamil and Malayalam films. She debuted as heroine in Kollywood with Sarkunam’s national award-winning Vaagai Sooda Vaa after playing a small role in Mysskin’s Yuddham Sei. Besides playing lead roles, she also danced for an ‘item number’ in Oru Oorla Rendu Raja.
She now plays the heroine in four films including Karaiyoram, Jithan 2, Vaigai Express and Kaadhal Solla Neram Illai. Among them, Vaigai Express is directed by Shaji Kailas and is about the experiences three girls undergo while traveling in an A/C coach of a long-distance train. Nassar and Neetu Chandra are her co-stars in the film. Iniya is confident that her role of ‘Swanapriya’ in the film would earn her name from critics and movie-goers.
Iniya dismisses reports which appeared in sections of the media to the effect that she demanded ‘more money’ to lock lips with the hero in Kaadhal Solla Neram Illai. “I play a nurse named Nivedha in the film. It’s a very nice family entertainer and it doesn’t have any lip-locking sequences,” Iniya assures.
