It is strongly rumoured in Kollywood circles that Simbu is likely to play the lead role in Kiruthiga’s next film as director.
Kiruthiga, the high-profile wife of producer-turned-hero Udhayanidhi and daughter-in-law of DMK stalwart M.K. Stalin, debuted as director in films with Vanakkam Chennai October, 2013. The Siva-Priya Anand starrer turned out to be a huge success at the box-office with Anirudh Ravichander’s music backing it up.
Despite more than one-and-a-half years after her first release as director, Kiruthiga hasn’t yet announced her second film as director. If the latest reports are to be believed, talks are on with a frontline heroine to be paired up opposite Simbu in Kiruthiga’s untitled film.
The script is said to be a mix of romance, sentiment and action in typical Simbu-style. Other actors and technicians to work in the film are being finalized. In all probability, a formal announcement about the film’s launch would be made early next week. The film is likely to go to floors in the first week of May.
It may be noted that Simbu hasn’t had any film releasing in theatres for the past two-and-a-half years; however, his Vaalu, Vettai Mannan and Idhu Namma Aalu are slated up to release in theatres in the coming months. He also has Gautham menon’s Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada and a Selvaraghavan film on his hands.
