Shruti Haasan, known for her plain-speaking ways, has openly admitted that for the time being, her entire concentration remains focused only on her career in films as an actress. One of the leading heroines in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industries, Shruti Haasan has been very busy as she shuttles between Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad to fulfill her shooting commitments in all these languages.
Talented Shruti is adept in playback singing, composing music and even lyrics. The actress, who has sung for other heroines such as Sameera Reddy and Sonakshi Sinha and her sister Akshara Haasan in films, has sung a duet for herself in her upcoming Tamil film Puli. She had also scored the music of her father Kamal Haasan’s Unnaipol Oruvan which released in 2009.
When queried about her focus, Shruti says “I’m in the industry as an actress only for the past few years. I’m in no hurry to get married as I have to concentrate hard at least for the next 4-5 years. Only then would I start thinking about getting married,” she asserts.
“I’m also aware of the fact that the shelf-life of an actress is only for 7-10 years at the most and I want to remain fit and slim and take advantage of whatever acting talents I’m possessed with,” she adds.
“My singing and music-composing careers can wait; my first priority is acting. Only after I feel that I have achieved something as an actress would I start expanding my priorities; for the time being, it is only acting for me!” concludes Shruti Haasan.
