Sivakarthikeyan has said that he didn’t consider any hero as his competitor(s) but only thought himself as his best competitor. He was responding to a query as to whether he thought Vijay Sethupathi was his competitor.
Sivakarthikeyan’s Kaakki Sattai released in theatres yesterday. Dhanush, who produced his super-hit Ethir Neechal a few years back, has produced Kaakki Sattai also but was conspicuous by his absence at the meet-the-press event organized in connection with the film’s release. Sivakarthikeyan denied that there was any misunderstanding between him and Dhanush.
Dhanush is now making Naanum Rowdydhaan with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayantara in lead roles. This gave rise speculation to the fact that not all is well between Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan and that the former was attempting to promote Vijay Sethupathi instead of Sivakarthikeyan.
Speaking to a weekly magazine, Sivakarthikeyan said that he didn’t consider Vijay Sethupathi or anybody as his competitor.
“Time has to decide as to who competes with whom; as far as I’m concerned, I only try to better my performance of the previous film which itself is a huge challenge.
When Pizza became a hit, I called up Vijay Sethupathi and congratulated him on the film’s success. I do remain on talking terms with him and if an appropriate script comes up, I might try it but my first aim is to succeed as a solo hero in a few films,” concludes Sivakarthikeyan.
