Oscar Ravichandran who has been monopolizing the Kollywood has never bothered by any trivial occurrences that take place in the course of his business. Recently he intensely damned the stance of International Sri Vaishnava Dharma Samrakshanaa Society who had earlier filed a petition seeking to direct the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to remove offending scenes in ‘Dasavatharam’ while issuing the censorship certificate. He further added that these people are creating communal riots and hence he would be forced to go to the extent of booking them under Goonda’s Act.
Ravi who is always a shy person who always keeps himself away from media is not a soft person has people think. When it comes to business and problems he would be the first person to react and set it right. He is not bothered about any obstacles and hurdles that come his way. He is person who does not stop at anybody defies him. Recent instance of trademark violation which has been filed before the trademark authorities against Oscar Films Private Limited for unauthorized usage of a name and symbol similar to those of the Oscars did not deter Ravichandran.
Ravichandran’s company would meet the legal challenge from the Academy at appropriate forums. Ravichandran has so far produced 16 films since 2000 most of which have been hits. Ravichandran’s claim to fame was the distribution of English Flicks and Tamil dubbed versions of Jackie Chan movies produced in Hong Kong. Dasavatharam will release on June 6 worldwide in 1000 screens in three languages Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Ravi is planning to start a publicity campaign of the film from May 30. He will be advertising on Sony Max during the semi-finals and finals of the DLF-IPL cup.
The Nizam rights of the film Dasavatharam have been bagged by Siri Media of Dasari Narayan Rao for a record 6.25 crore. Directed by KS Ravi Kumar, the music of the film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Telugu composer Devi Sri Prasad has done the film’s re-recording. The more exciting thing about the movie is that its story, dialogues and screenplay have been provided by Kamal Hasan. Asin will be seen in the lead role, whereas Mallika Sherawat is going spice it up with her hot sequences. Ravi Varma is the cinematographer.
Thota Dharani, Sameer Chanda and Prabhakaran are the art directors. Thanigachalam is the editor. Thiagarajan and Kanal Kannan are the fight masters.
