Actress Rambha’s brother Srinivas has denied media reports which said that gold and diamond jewels belonging to the now-retired actress, worth Rs.4.5 crore, had been looted from his residence in Hyderabad.
Known for her ‘thunder thighs’, Rambha was a leading heroine in the nineties and starred opposite all frontline eheroes including superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Sathyaraj, Arjun, Prabhu, Karthik, Prabhu Deva, Ajith and Vijay. She has also starred in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada movies and hasn’t acted in films after her 2010 marriage to Indiran, a Canada-based industrialist.
Toronto-based Rambha is hosting dance reality show for a popular regional television channel and has residences in Chennai and Hyderabad.
It was reported that the above-said jewellery, which she had kept locked in her brother’s Hyderabad residence, were stolen by her brother’s wife Pallavi who was not on good terms with her husband. Pallavi had earlier alleged dowry harassment against Rambha and Srinivas.
Speaking to newsmen, Srinivas said “The case of stolen jewellery is an old one; the Banjara Hills police in Hyderabad are investigating into the matter. Someone has misunderstood the issue and reported wrongly to the press.” It is also reported that Rambha is expecting her second child in the second half of the year.
