It remains highly questionalble whether or not Sivakarthikeyan, the television anchor-turned-actor, would be able to make an impact among his fans and audiences with his cop’s role in his upcoming film Kaaki Sattai which is slated to release in theatres on the 27th of this month.
Sivakarthikeyan’s forte is comedy and he hasn’t taken on an ultra-serious role so far in his career in Kollywood. The script of Kaaki Sattai, which has been directed by Durai Senthilkumar of Ethir Neechal fame, hasn’t yet been revealed so far and it remains to be seen whether Sivakarthikeyan plays a serious cop of a fun-filled cop.
Dhanush has produced the film under his home banner which has Sri Divya pairing up opposite Sivakarthikeyan for the second time after the super-duper hit Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam.
The film was initially titled as Taana but was later re-named as Kaaki Sattai. Sukumar is the film’s cinematographer while Anirudh Ravichander has scored the film’s music.
Amala Paul was first roped in as Sivakarthikeyan’s heroine but for some reasons, she opted out of the film. Sri Divya was signed up later as the heroine. The film was to release on Pongal in January but was postponed as Dhanush reportedly wanted to ensure that no other film disrupts his film’s showing at the box-office.
