Despite her sizzling lip-lock with Vishal in the hit film Naan Sigappu Manithan, actress Lakshmi Menon has come to be regarded as the ‘girl-next-door’ in Tamil films. However, the lanky actress says that she is not such a kind of girl in real life.
One of the most sought-after actresses in Kollywood, Lakshmi takes her own time in signing up films. She has already declared that studies are her first priority and films are secondary to her. Moreover, she says that she is not so ‘girl-next-door’ kind of a girl in real life.
During a recent interview, she said “In real life, I’m nowhere close to the girl-next-door kind of characters I portray on-screen in my films. I appeal to my friends and fans not to expect me to behave in the same manner as they have seen me in my roles in Tamil films.
“In real life, I’m vastly different from my on-screen persona; how can an image and its shadow be the same? I don’t mind getting into the skin of a particular character and changing my costumes and body-language. Unlike in films, Paavadai-dhavani is not my permanent costume,” she laughs.
