Unconfirmed reports emanating from the Unit of Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film Uttama Villain say that the film, which was to release in February, would now witness another postponement in its release date and would now be releasing only around the Tamil New Year day in April.
Ramesh Aravind, who was Kamal’s co-star in many films and who is a director in Sandalwood, makes his directorial debut in Tamil with this film which has Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar and Parvathi Nair as the heroines.
When Uttama Villain was launched, it was said that it would release in September last but it was subsequently postponed many times and finally, the makers had said that the film was sure to release in February.
In the meantime, Lingusamy (co-producer of the film along with Kamal Haasan) has decided not to release the film in February when a few big films are lined up for release.
As Eros Entertainment, which has taken up the release of Uttama Villain, has many films on its hands to be released in theatres, it has now been tentatively decided to release the film on Tamil New Year day on 14th April.
