In what may not sound music to the ears of millions of fans of superstar Rajinikanth the world over, Bollywood’s Aamir Khan is likely to play the lead role replacing Rajini in producer-director Shankar’s Enthiran II which would be his proposed sequel to the hugely successful Enthiran: The Robot.
Rajini, Aishwarya Rai and Bollywood’s Danny Denzongpa essayed lead roles to perfection in the 2010 super-duper hit film. Shankar, who had taken more than two years in making I, reportedly approached Rajini to play the lead role in the sequel but Rajini is said to have politely refused to star in the film as he had been advised by doctors not to unduly strain his body.
Shankar approached Aamir Khan who said ‘yes’ the moment he heard the script from Shankar. Aamir Khan, the perfectionist who is now concentrating on his upcoming Hindi film Peekay which is scheduled for a world-wide release in December, is said to have signed along dotted lines to star in Enthiran II.
The heroine and other technicians to work in the film haven’t yet been finalized. It also remains to be seen whether Shankar would make the film in Hindi or Tamil.
